CONCEPT

Our designer met with the client to discuss the format and ideas for the cookbook. The recipes were submitted by men and compiled by the author. He wished to keep the design and layout simple and easy to use, yet be appealing. WIth the target audience also being men, the designer came up with multiple images for the cover that represented what the client was looking for.

A font was then selected by the designer to compliment the imagery.

LAYOUT
The two elements were combined with simple lines to create the cover. To keep the project affordable, we suggested that the cookbook be printed in one color. A dark blue was used throughout the book in many shades to give the illusion of more than one color.

The recipes were grouped, with a table of contents for each section to make finding the recipes effortless.

The recipes were simply formatted with masculine quotes to fill in extra space. Section references were also added along the edge of the pages as another way to locate recipes with ease.
